About The Doctor
Dr. Alan Li immigrated from Hong Kong and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Manitoba, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Toronto. Since the late 1980s, Dr. Li has been practicing primary care, serving diverse marginalized populations, including racialized communities, immigrants and refugees, individuals facing complex access barriers, LGBTQ communities, and people living with HIV/AIDS. He received specialized training in HIV palliative care and served as a medical doctor at Casey House in the late 1990s.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Li has been actively involved in community-driven research and capacity-building programs for professional service providers, community caregivers, and individuals with lived experiences. He co-founded Asian Community AIDS Services, the Committee for Accessible AIDS Treatment, and the Blue Door Clinic, and served as the Policy and Practice Leader at the Ontario HIV Treatment Network.
Currently, Dr. Li accepts new patient referrals only from community and health service agencies.
